No Such Thing As a Free Lunch??
The LaGrange County Lakes Council is announcing a free seminar for folks interested in improving and protecting their lake investment. A team of professionals will make presentations and answer questions at the Lakes Council's Spring Seminar to be held on Saturday, May 16th.
The presentation will be held at LaGrange County's newest park: Pine Knob Park, just 2 miles east of Howe on SR 120. The program begins at 10:00 a.m. and lunch will be provided by the Council.
Featured speakers and their subjects include: Gwen White, DNR biologist–Lake and River Enhancement (LARE); Jeremy Price, DNR enforcement–Pier regulations and rules; Scott Banfield, Aquatic Enhancement and Survey– measures for controlling aquatic vegetation; Shannon Winks, DNR Urban Wildlife Biologist–Options for controlling Canada geese and swans.
I have attended two of these seminars in the past and they are always informative with plenty of information and handouts. If you haven't yet visited Pine Knob, it is a beautiful addition to our park system.
Watch for the complete agenda and schedule in the Spring Newsletter of the LaGrange County Lakes Council, due out early in May.
Lakes Council opens office
The LaGrange County Lakes Council has opened a new office in downtown LaGrange at 111 West Spring Street, Suite 8.
Having an office is expected to provide additional awareness of the Council's work and will allow centralized organization of the equipment and supplies that have previously been maintained by board members.
Jack Dold has been named interim administrator for Lakes Council operations and will work towards the eventual hiring of a permanent part time administrator.
The new phone number for the Council is: 260-499-LAKE (5253).
The owners bought this cottage with the intention of tearing it down and building a dream home at the lake someday. They spent years enjoying the place and have great memories of their times at the lake. They didn't get the chance to build, but the utilities are ran and the property was split with that in mind. They also put in a new well. It is a great lot with plenty of room for parking and a fenced in yard. It has seawalled frontage and a really nice SANDY BEACH! They are leaving anything you want to keep (furniture, dishes, etc.) so you can just show up and start having fun.
Enjoy "cottage life" until you can build your "dream home"!
There are also boats and lifts that are available for purchase outside of the sale.
